Notifications on new system

I'm trying to figure out what events trigger an email notification on the new P2PU.

I see notifications options for: - A user messages me on p2pu.org. - Someone starts following me. - Someone starts following one of the study groups, courses, ... that I am organizing.

Participants seem to also be getting email notifications for activity wall posts even if they are not marked important. Is this a bug?

Are there other events that generate email notifications?

Seems that even non-organizer posts are generating emails. Perhaps this should be moved to the bug list?

Some changes we have to do are:

  • Allow organizers and followers to have the same configuration options for email notifications than the participants.
  • Allow everyone to have a more detailed set of options so things like (only receive notifications from group organizers can be possible).
  • Have course/group level configuration for default email notification settings (so the organizer can configure the default notification settings for when a participant just joined the group).
